After a first career in teaching, Christine completed a psychology degree from Monash University and has conducted private practice both in Australian and international settings. She returned to Brisbane in 2006 after living and working abroad for many years.
Christine is experienced in assisting children, teens and adults with a wide range of personal or clinical problems and is very experienced assisting with such problems as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar disorders, addictions, pain management, grief and loss, adjustment to difficult life circumstances such as injury, childhood abuse and relationship problems or divorce.
As a past teacher, Christine has a significant interest in working with children and teens and is skilled assisting with anxiety disorders such as phobias, OCD, ADD, ADHD, eating disorders or school related problems. She has experience in the administrating of IQ and educational assessments as well as liaising with schools. As a trained “Friends” facilitator she can help children with self-esteem issues and decision-making as well as assisting parents with children's behavioural concerns and the management of anger.
Christine uses a variety of therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, motivational interview and for young children, narrative therapy.
Currently Christine is completing her Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from James Cook University specialising in Autism studies.
