Dr. James Le Lievre PhD, B.A. (Psych) Hons.

Dr. Le Lievre is a counselling psychologist registered with the Psychologist Board of Australia and Medicare Australia. Dr. Le Lievre began counselling in 1999 and now enjoys cooperatively developing solutions with people who experience clinical, relationship and parenting issues. Early on, he developed his expertise with the solution focussed counselling model to develop strengths, maximise motivation and develop momentum into the future. He is also able to combine this approach with hypnosis to enhance clinical, relationship and parenting outcomes.
Dr. Le Lievre's doctoral research and passion have been on the way in which clinical, relationship and parenting issues can be created and solved through interpersonal communication. His doctoral research specifically examined the experienced relationship between interpersonal processes and psychosis. His research features in international text book and journal publications.
He has worked for over 4 years for local, national and international companies delivering brief / solution focussed psychological interventions for clinical, relationship and parenting issues for the staff of government departments and private companies.
Dr. Le Lievre has also counselled people with drug addictions through Drug ARM and Quitline. He has worked with people diagnosed with serious mental health issues at Integrated Mental Health Services and at Canefields Clubhouse. He has worked as an inpatient psychologist at the New Farm Clinic, a private psychiatric clinic.
