assessments

Brisbane Counselling Centre has qualified, specialist psychologists available to conduct psychological and neuropsychological assessments.

Such assessment are often required for the following legal matters:

  • personal injury claims
  • criminal matters
  • pre-sentence matters
  • testamentary capacity or fitness to plead matters

Additionally, assessments can identify:

  • learning difficulties - such as ADHD, literacy & numeracy problems, dyslexia
  • intellectual abilities - such as giftedness
  • neurological problems - such as stroke or dementia or head injury
  • personality disorders
  • emotional problems

A psychological assessment will involve three stages and will not require any preparation prior to the initial appointment:

  • initial interview where the psychologist will gather information from the client and/or their guardian/s
  • psychological testing of the client
  • reporting and discussing test results with the client and/or their guardian/s.
