Brisbane Counselling Centre has qualified, specialist psychologists available to conduct psychological and neuropsychological assessments.
Such assessment are often required for the following legal matters:
- personal injury claims
- criminal matters
- pre-sentence matters
- surrogacy assessments
- testamentary capacity or fitness to plead matters
Additionally, assessments can identify:
- learning difficulties – such as ADHD, literacy & numeracy problems, dyslexia
- intellectual abilities – such as giftedness
- neurological problems – such as stroke or dementia or head injury
- personality disorders
- emotional problems
A psychological assessment will involve three stages and will not require any preparation prior to the initial appointment:
- initial interview where the psychologist will gather information from the client and/or their guardian/s
- psychological testing of the client
- reporting and discussing test results with the client and/or their guardian/s.
