Bina Shah

Registered Counsellor

Bina is a registered counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). She is dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where her clients can feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

Central to Bina’s practice is her unwavering belief in the inherent capacity of every individual to heal and grow. She deeply respects each person’s unique journey and tailors her therapeutic approach accordingly, recognising the diversity of experiences, challenges, and strengths that each client brings. By seamlessly integrating various theories and techniques, Bina aims to create a supportive environment that honours the uniqueness of each client and empowers them to live authentically.

Bina’s practice framework is firmly rooted in a combination of person-centred, emotion-focused psychodynamic approaches. Additionally, she integrates somatic approaches and internal family systems (IFS) to provide effective support for her clients. Through these modalities, Bina assists clients in exploring unconscious dynamics and fostering connections between body and emotions. Her goal is to help clients uncover root causes, increase self-awareness, and cultivate a more profound sense of connection with themselves.

Bina is trained in couples counselling using the Gottman method. This research-based approach helps couples build strong and healthy relationships by teaching them effective communication and conflict management skills, creating a solid foundation of love and connection. She is dedicated to supporting couples in their journey towards greater understanding, intimacy, and satisfaction in their relationship. Bina prioritises ongoing professional development and participates in regular clinical supervision to uphold the quality of her work and ensure effective and high-quality care for her clients.
