About Sue

Dr McCulloch is a counselling and forensic psychologist and she has practiced in Queensland since 1985.

She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Forensic Psychologists.

She provides psychological services for people presenting with a broad range of complex issues which include:

  • sexual abuse/assault
  • anger and stress management
  • depression
  • anxiety related issues
  • loss and grief
  • relationship problems
  • self-esteem and confidence development
  • trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder and adjustment disorder

The psychological interventions used include:

  • eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)
  • cognitive behaviour therapy
  • hypnosis
  • schema-focused therapy
  • problem solving and solution focused therapy

Prior to commencing private practice, Dr McCulloch lectured in the law facility of the Queensland University of Technology. She has researched, delivered and published numerous papers in the area of forensic psychology. She was formerly a senior employee of the Queensland Corrective Services Commission, and sat on two parole boards in Queensland. During the early 90’s she was also appointed a commissioner on the Queensland Corrective Services Commission Board. She intermittently appears in court as an expert witness.

Sue works with adults 18+ and is available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings. She is also available via Zoom Pro and telephone consultations.
