About Janice

Janice is a mature experienced psychologist who has offered counselling and psychotherapeutic services to a wide range of clients over many years. She has a gentle, non-judgemental, empathetic and compassionate client-centred approach. She is a fully registered psychologist with AHPRA and an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Underlying her therapeutic approach is a respect for and sensitivity to each person’s individuality and unique personality, life history and current circumstances. She endeavours to put herself in the shoes of each client to best assist them in their personal therapeutic goals. She chooses from a range of therapeutic processes consistent with the above overarching approach. Specific skill sets include EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy, clinical hypnosis, transactional analysis, compassionate therapy, positive psychology and psychoeducation.

She is comfortable and experienced in working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, work stress, relationship and family issues, loss and grief, gender identity and a variety of sexual orientations, and life transitions such as separation, divorce and retirement. She is also experienced in assisting individuals and their families with illnesses including dementia, terminal illness and death.  She has a particular interest and extensive experience in the emotional wellbeing of women including professional and businesswomen, women in the arts and entertainment, executive women, women of indigenous heritage, homemakers, mothers, LGTB women and women in non-traditional roles.
