About Louise

Louise is a fully registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

She has predominantly worked in private psychology clinics within the Brisbane and surrounding areas and has experience working with: Transformations Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre, Child Safety, Prince Charles Hospital Mental Health Unit (Voluntarily) and Brisbane Correctional Centre.

Louise has a flexible approach to her work and enjoys working with severe trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Positive Psychology to help people build resources within their lives and relationships.  She is passionate about assisting people to increase their self-awareness, and develop additional self-direction skills to create and live an authentic, fulfilling life.

Louise works with clients who have a variety of challenges, including complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, low self-worth, low motivation, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, grief and loss and criminogenic issues.  She has a keen interest in trauma and associated difficulties and continually undertakes further professional development to hone her skill sets. This enables her clients to increase their ability to attain their goals.  She has completed the following extra training to support her clients:

  • EMDR Level 1
  • EMDR Level 2
  • EMDR for Dissociation
  • EMDR for Eating and Body Issues – the Body Blame program
  • Developmental Needs Meeting Protocol
  • Gottman Marriage Counselling Level 1 Clinical Training for Relationships

She is currently undertaking Gottman Marriage Counselling Level 2 training through the Gottman Institute to assist clients to improve their relationships.

Additionally, Louise has facilitated a variety of therapeutic psychology groups including working with multi-cultural client groups, grief and loss groups, self-confidence groups and adult literacy mentoring. She has developed and facilitated grief and loss programs for the bereaved and self-awareness and self-development programs for individuals struggling with their mental health.
