Barbara Headey

Barbara is a registered General Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Registration, AHPRA) and a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Barbara connects with people in a respectful, calm and compassionate way. She will accompany you on your journey to wholeness and authentic living. She has a special interest in working with adults who experienced childhood trauma.

Barbara has a double degree in Science and Psychology, with Honours in Psychology, James Cook University, and a Masters in Counselling Psychology, La Trobe University, 2006. Before taking extended maternity leave, Barbara worked in a range of clinical settings with people experiencing anxiety, mood difficulties and relationship issues. She has been in private practice since returning to work. Barbara moved to Australia with her family in 1991. She speaks Hungarian fluently and is happy to provide counselling in Hungarian.

Barbara is married with three children, enjoys reading, bush walking and cheering along her three kids at sports. Her favourite quote is:

Barbara works with adults 18+ and is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: face-to-face, or via Zoom or telephone.
