Tracey is a Registered Psychologist with over 20 years experience working in clinical settings with Queensland Health and in private psychiatric hospitals, in private psychology practice, with women’s health services and with not-for-profit organisations.
Her work has incorporated clients across the life-span: young adults (private and educational settings); in aged care mental health services (severe and chronic mental health issues); and in cancer care, assisting people with the many challenges that accompany new or pre-existing cancer diagnoses.
Tracey uses evidence-based therapies coupled with a warm, compassionate and collaborative approach to assist clients manage or cope with their issues and improve their quality of life, whether they face adjustment and/or life transitions, mental health issues, mood or substance use concerns, or are struggling with grief and loss, or trauma-related PTSD/complex PTSD.
She has worked with veterans in individual and group therapy settings, having facilitated both inpatient and day programs within private psychiatric hospital settings.
Tracey has a keen interest in working to assist individuals with their career and study issues, and has worked in the tertiary education sector as a student and careers counsellor. Her experience in private practice incorporates assisting individuals with stress-related, relationship, health and esteem-related issues (including the treatment of major mood disorders – depression, anxiety, bipolar and early psychosis, PTSD and Complex PTSD).
Tracey adopts a holistic approach to care, with the understanding that an individual’s mental health cannot be separated from their heart and soul or their life circumstances.
Tracey uses therapeutic modalities including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT – including Mindfulness-based work)
- Schema Focused Therapy (SFT)
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
- Motivational Interviewing
Tracey has worked as a psychologist for the Older Persons Mental Health Service and as a senior psychologist in Oncology at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Tracey is currently available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: face-to-face and via Zoom Pro and telephone.
