Sanet Liebenberg Psychology

Sanet is a warm-hearted and highly experienced independent Psychologist dedicated to helping you move from coping to thriving. She understands that seeking support is a courageous first step, and she creates a calm, non-judgemental, and deeply reflective space where you can freely explore your most personal challenges.

She supports clients through a wide range of issues, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, suicidality, interpersonal conflict, lack of purpose/motivation, and the everyday struggle of work-life balance and burnout.

While Sanet supports a breadth of concerns, her passion lies in the profound work of healing current or past trauma. She is equipped with specialised tools to address the deep, long-term patterns that hold you back, holding certifications as a Trained Schema and EMDR Therapist.

To guide you toward a more meaningful, self-compassionate life, Sanet can sensitively adapt her therapeutic approach to your needs, ensuring thoughtful integration of therapeutic approaches. She utilises a wide range of effective evidence-based methods, including:

  • Attachment-based and Schema Therapy: For addressing long-term, unhelpful behavioural and relational patterns.
  • EMDR, ACT, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy: For resolving immediate issues, enhancing emotional regulation, and fostering self-kindness.

Sanet is committed to an identity-affirming practice across the lifespan, supporting individuals navigating issues related to:

  • Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, OCD)
  • Gender identity and sexual orientation
  • Cultural adaptation, drawing on her own experience residing in different countries

Sanet supports older teens and adults through all life stages, providing sensitive care for challenges related to midlife transitions, including the psychological and physical changes experienced during perimenopause/menopause and men’s changing roles, health, and purpose. She is also dementia-informed and experienced in supporting older adults and their family members.

When not in her practice, Sanet is balancing her professional life with her joys: spending time with her family, including two young children, cats, and a dog. She enjoys playing the piano, doing arts and crafts, exploring nature, and the occasional retail therapy. This grounding allows her to truly understand the complexities of work-life balance and the importance of self-compassion.

Sanet works with adults and adolescents aged 16 and older. She is available on Mondays and Tuesdays for both face-to-face and telehealth consultations.
